Portrait Session

Yesterday, Evan had his picture taken at Portrait Innovations. It was totally empty and they were very patient. Note to self... only go in the middle of a weekday. I must say he did pretty well. We even got a few smiles. I'll give you a sneak peek of one of my favorites. For the rest of them, visit our photo site www.jandaray.smugmug.com.

Happy 2 Months Tiny E

Evan was 2 months old on Sunday, his Auntie Rach's birthday. He is super cute and smiling all the time now. We are able to sleep through the night most of the time, too.

A couple of weeks ago we visited my Aunt Linda at the lake. We went to check on Mom and Dad's place, too. Evan enjoyed seeing his Aunt Linda, Aunt Sue and cousins Kim and Kelsey. He also got to meet his cousins Brad and Tina and we both met their son Braden for the first time. He is super cute, too. They will have so much fun playing together as they get bigger.
We are enjoying all the new things that Evan does every day!

I'll leave you tonight (this morning) with some pictures from this month.

Getting accustomed to my new job

Sorry it has been so long since a post. It has been a lot harder to find computer time since Tiny E arrived.
I guess everyone knows that our little bundle of joy arrived two days before his due date and Thanksgiving. After almost 36 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing, Dr. Cone said it was time for a C-section. I was none too happy, but Evan was stuck and just wouldn't come down. He finally arrived at 2:16 pm weighing in at 7 lbs 14 oz and 21 1/4 in long. His bilirubin was elevated, so he stayed under the heat lamp most of the day Thanksgiving and Friday. We arrived home on Friday evening and were all happy to be home, especially Mom and Dad. It felt good to sleep in our bed. Evan slept in the bassinet and then moved to his own bed the next night.
Our first week at home brought a lot of emotions ending with quite a bit of sadness. My Pop died on Dec. 2nd. I was not able to take Evan to meet him before he passed away, which was hard on me. I know neither of them would have remembered since Evan is too young and my Pop had end stage Alzheimer's. It would have just been a nice photo to have.
We went to Lufkin to celebrate Christmas with my mom's family, Christmas Eve with both of our families and went to Frankiln Christmas Day to see Justin's Mammaw and the rest of the crew. On Christmas Eve our new little cousin, Braden, was born. We are all looking forward to Evan and Braden being able to play together when I visit Tyler.
So far Evan is an angel. We have had some tense moments, but just holding him in my arms brings a smile...even when we are both tired and whiny. There are a couple of bad habits I'm trying to break right now (sleeping after eating and being rocked to sleep). I hope I haven't set myself up for trouble already. Other than that he has taken to eating and sleeping just fine. He is growing fast! Justin and I are so grateful that God has entrusted us to raise this little boy and we are praying that we will do a great job.
